The title of my blog is the quintessential essence as to why I am here. My taste buds are explorers and like many different dining experiences. First up are cupcakes.
We all know what they are and have seen them around, especial guys confused when entering into a shop walking out with a few in hope that the girlfriend will now talk to me. Or the girl who was left heartbroken by that cute guy over a misunderstanding. Or me ... the girl that would use any excuse to eat ... in particular a cupcake ... " Oh your sick that's okay I bought cupcakes let's share ...". ( oh no now you all know my evil plans).
Enough of my rambles, everyone knows ONLY buy my cupcakes from CUPCAKE CENTRAL. Yes, I made everyone trek down to Glenferrie, Hawthorn due to my selfish taste buds. BUT NOT ANYMORE. And, continue on to find out why!
It would only make sense to begin at the start. Over a year ago, Cupcake Central opened and that's when I feel in love. Sheryl the owner, lost her job and followed her dreams and opened a cupcake store that was gentle to nature. I found this very inspiring and a fan of giving back to nature and prevent harm. She created not only cupcakes but drinks like this mango smoothy that she herself made ( or at least she bought it up to me), melting mocha's and chic chai latte's. All made to perfection. Furthermore, she was very supportive of vegans and below Japan. Everything was well thought out.
Everything was like heaven, so why don't I prefer it anymore. Simple, their service went down and it seems like they were more interested in making big sales. That kinda overshadows everything else they are trying to do. I must admit that it is not the whole team and only a few.
Like any other day I was 10 minutes early for class, so the usual stop to Cupcake Central. Second, in line to the couple in front who had finished there order as two girls served them. One chit-chatted away and the other running around packing the 2 boxes up. Upon, the second girls return, she also began to chat the the couple. The line piled up outside the popular shop, the couple eventually left and I was served, by the second girl. I'd also was waiting to order a box of 6, similarly to the 4 below. On the 3rd time of repeating my order she got it right. Lucky, I almost gave up. I gave me order for my coffee, which had to be taken by the first girl and then waited another 10 for them to find a 3rd girl to make my coffee. My coffee was put through wrong and the 3rd girl had to re-make (which I felt sorry for as she didn't take my order and is usually serves me! (she and the guy with the mo-hawk should get a pay rise, they are soo nice and makes great drinks!!!)). 30 minutes later I had left Cupcake Central.
Overall, the quality of there cupcakes haven't changed, but their service has and reasons to as why I'm not there every 2nd day anymore.
Now days, I do look to see who's working before I walk in these days.
For those that are interested Cupcake Central stores can be found at Mel. Central and Glenferrie Road.
Stay tune for the other cupcake bakery's that I've visited since.
Also, the "best" award winning macaroons in Melbourne.
